Our Story
Our Story
Hope Springs Ranch didn't start with a business plan — it started with a feeling. Lisa Davis, BSW and Carl Davis, DVM had spent years building careers in service to others, but they kept coming back to the same dream: a piece of Oklahoma land where they could raise heritage animals, slow down, and live close to the rhythms of the natural world.
Lisa brings her background in social work to everything she does on the ranch — a deep attentiveness to the needs of animals and people alike, and a gift for building community around shared values. Carl brings the steady, methodical care of a veterinarian: precise, patient, and always learning. Together, they've built something that is equal parts farm, sanctuary, and open invitation.
The People Behind the Ranch
Meet Lisa & Carl
Co-founder & Ranch Manager
Lisa Davis, BSW
Lisa's background in social work shapes the way she approaches every relationship on the ranch — with the animals, with buyers, and with the broader community. She manages day-to-day ranch life, handles inquiries, and is the warm voice behind Hope Springs Ranch's story. If you've ever felt immediately at home here, that's Lisa.
Co-founder & Herd Health
Carl Davis, DVM
Carl brings the same careful, evidence-based thinking to ranching that he applies in his veterinary practice. He is deeply involved in the health and genetics of the herd, always researching bloodlines and best practices to ensure every animal at Hope Springs Ranch thrives. His calm, methodical presence is the steady backbone of everything the ranch does.
How We Ranch
Our Philosophy
Heritage First
We raise breeds with deep roots — animals shaped by centuries of careful selection. Their hardiness, temperament, and beauty are a living inheritance worth preserving.
Honest Stewardship
We believe in transparency about how our animals are raised, what they eat, and how they live. Good stewardship means doing right by the land and the animals, even when no one is watching.
Community & Connection
Ranching is not a solitary pursuit. We love connecting with fellow breeders, families, and anyone curious about where their food comes from. The gate is always open.
